Security & control

Built around who should see what.

Case and firm information is sensitive by nature. Third Chair is designed around clear organizational boundaries, appropriate access, and careful handling of connected services.

The organization. The role. The authorized work.
01

Organization-level separation

Firm data is designed to stay scoped to its organization, with tenant-aware access controls and server-side authorization.

02

Role-based permissions

Customizable roles, granular permissions, organization membership and module access are designed to control who can see and change sensitive information.

03

Authenticated access, MFA & sessions

Authenticated accounts establish access to the firm. MFA and session-security controls are part of the account-security approach; appropriate configuration remains important.

04

Secure document handling

Private storage and permission-based access protect the document workflow. Temporary or signed access may be used where appropriate.

05

Protected integrations

Supported authorization mechanisms connect third-party services. Integration credentials and QuickBooks tokens are handled server-side rather than exposed to ordinary browser users.

06

Permission-aware AI

AI is intended to work only from the firm and matter information the requesting user is already authorized to access.

07

Encrypted connections & auditability

Encrypted network connections and protected storage mechanisms support secure handling. Histories of sensitive actions are maintained where the workflow supports them.

Security is an ongoing responsibility.

Thoughtful architecture, appropriate configuration and responsible access work together. This overview does not imply a certification, an absolute-security guarantee or an uptime commitment.
